The doublewood is my staple go-to whisky and I have bottle of the single-barrel 15yr old, but have just noticed this new variant.
Doublewood is my go-to whisky as well, love it. I bought a bottle of the 14 year old caribbean cask a few months ago, and fark me it needed some water as it came with a kick at 50+%. Drinking it neat, if felt like it was stripping my throat!!! A splash of water and it helped soften it....

The double wood is one of my favourites too, seems to be a pretty popular choice.

I've just ordered a bottle of Balvenie 12yr old First Fill single barrel, tempted to keep it though rather than drink it. Decisions decisions........ :cheers

I've got a bottle of 14yr old Golden Cask - finished in Caribbean Rum Casks.
Same thing or a different one? Not tried it yet.

I think its the same thing.

The ones I saw were called golden cask but looking on the web it looks like golden carribean cask or something similar.

Opened a bottle of Glenfiddich 15yr Old Solera Reserve last night.

Got to say it's absolutely delicious - has to be one of the tastiest whiskies I've ever had.

A bit of a heads up:
The Whiski Shop in Edinburgh is hosting a free Talisker Storm tasting event on Saturday afternoon.
First come first served.
Sadly I won't be there :( I'll be at Tullibardine distillery sampling some of their wares :)

Just back from a 4 day stag in Austria, having difficulty drinking water let alone whisky.
