That's as maybe ........but the UK Motor Trade would literally grind to a halt if Arnold's Empire disappeared without a suitable successor.
There are some manufacturers almost totally dependant on his addressable market for vehicle disposal.
I cannot comment on his customer service as I have only dealt with his son for the occasional smoker
The family's net worth is reputed to be over £470m and the value of their Property estate exceeds £280m (2012 valuations) which must make him one of the largest private enterprises in Europe?

Pish poor customer service isn't the preserve of the likes of Uncle Arnold. I have experienced it 1st hand at Eastern BMW. First time I visited the dealership to look at a 320d Tourer, no car to test drive so they took all my details and said they would be in touch. Never did. About a month or so later they had an Open Day with test drives of everything from the M135i to the M6 so I went along having asked for a 320d Tourer Auto. Ended up in a manual saloon

. I asked the girl taking the test drive requests and she said they had a 320d saloon with the auto box but I'd have to come back in 90mins. By this time the wife and kids were thoroughly bored so nipped back to Livingston to drop them home then headed back. When mu slot arrived there was no car so she assumed it was still out with another customer. After 30mins she realised that it was an X3 2.0d she had me down for

Last attempt left my details again as they said their Tourer auto was away that weekend so they would phone me back mid week to arrange a test drive. That was a month ago and yes you guessed it no call from Eastern BMW.

Are you able to source the car via a broker like Broadspeed ? They have the NEW 2013 - MAZDA 6 TOURER 2.2D 150PS SE NAV 5DR at under £20500. If nothing else it's a good bargaining tool for the showroom you visit

Dave,
Noticed on auto trader that Mark Wallace cars (Broxburn) has a BMW D3 Alpina with 13,000 miles on for £26k. Maybe worth an enquiry if you can blow the budget a bit.

I think part of the challenge was that it had to be new.
Broxburn, eh...not too far for a lookee! D3 is on our vehicle bucket list...touring or saloon I wonder...

Campbell,
It's a Touring in Blue just at the front beside the A89 roundabout. So probably even more ideal.

Yesterday may have gone better than initially expected. The 'angry man' approach seems to be a good one
Deal could be on for the Mazda 2.2D SE-L NAV, with a few extras thrown in too.
Next decision.... white, silver or grey.
I'm leaning towards the white for her.
