It is a bit worrying that forums like this have the press trolling through them, to see if they can get any stories, and then reporting them to the police.

Even more worrying that you get idiots recording themselves speeding, then posting it up on forums or on you-tube. What are they trying to prove??

I would like it recorded for the press reading this that my real name is Felix Snodgrass, and the only car I own is a Citroen 2CV which will not do any more than 68mph. Also at the same time pointing out that I am tee-total, and have never drunk any of Tuts Laphroig in my life!!!!

Felix, the signature on your posts appears to be corrupted for some reason... ;)

Raises an interesting point though... was anyone planning to do any in-car camera work during the road portions of Tut Towers, and if so, would they mind...erm... not?

No speedos, no useable time signature, "This video is speeded up for comedy value" disclaimer, who is going to do what?

there's always the elise speedo defence: switch the ignition off at speed and then back on. The speedo will take what ever speed your doing as it's zero datum. I discovered this after going through a roundabout at 130 tuts and thinking it didn't feel that fast :) Had been freewheeling at 70 tuts to work out which wheel bearing was fecked.

Quality defence, The sppedo was broken and I knwo the elise wouldn't do over 130

This guy was desperate (and I mean desperate!) to buy my VXT when I sold it a month ago  I had to keep telling him that I had already given my word to someone else. He was very keen on my car but ended up buying another one, otherwise that would have been my old car in the pictures...

Saying that, halfway thru the thread in question the guy who did buy mine claimed to have done 150 tuts also :? http://www.vx220.org.uk/forums/index.ph ... =52090&hl=

At least on the old list it took a bit more effort to keep up with stuff. Suddenly this list doesn't seem as smart - there was someone posting only a couple of days ago asking for info on the "Run to somewhere near Aberdeen" this weekend. Newbies join and basicly any question they ask is answered.

As for filming in car on the road, unless you are a cop, or an IAM driver it just doesn't make sense.

With the proliference of image editing software I dont see how a pic like that could secure a conviction in a court of law. It would take anyone with more than 20minutes photoshop experience to fake pics like that.

Plainly media sensationalism by some desperate journalist.
