Just in from my first wee roof-off blast

Post by Mr Spook » Sat Feb 04, 2006 2:21 pm

What a hoot!
It was freezing though - must remember to wear more clothing next time.

Felt - and definately sounded - totally different.

Even had a couple of wee kids taking pictures with their phones when I stopped at a junction. Was hard not to smile/grin.

Off to have a Horlicks...

S1 or S2 spook ? Day like today you not whip the rear window out for extra warmth ?

S2. Found that rotating the wee middle air thingies down at least kept the gear-knob warm.
Was great fun. Was a shame putting the top back on.
If it's good again tomorrow, might do the same again.

Think my mileage is going to be higher than I thought.
Never exactly had these "urges" with the Mondeo...

Good to hear you are enjoying the car as it should be, without roof, my experience is that the heater in the S2 is pretty pish (Ithink the one with air con is supposed to be better), therefore alot of warm clothing is essential, unfortunately I usually have a pax who feels the cold too much.

Just drive and don't worry about the miles.

Glad to hear your enjoying it. Wear wind/waterproof 'outer layer' and it should make a difference, also windproof gloves might help keep warm.

I'm also considering wearing a scarf, as I find I get a cold blast on the left side of my neck and shoulder with the roof off.

8) and don't forget your shades!!

The '04 onward model S2s have better heaters and the 111R is allegedly better than k series cars.
