being someone who does not have a credit cards or any loan other than my mortgage i'd say - just save up!

i hate credit cards/loans etc and only have a mortgage because i couldn't save up the money to buy the house cash!

Yeah - but the flip side is you youngester haven't had enough time to get yourself in to a cripplilng debt situation either.
