My wheels are being painted satin black when my repairs get sorted out. I think it looks great as the current wheels don't quite match the clams.

... that looks great dezzy... Yep, I think I'll get that done also.

I'll order the rubber stuff up tomorrow, and then make arrangements with the Powder Coater dude when it arrives. Just need to watch my timing as we are off to Aberdeen for the Easter weekend with the Elise..

Good stuff. :thumbsup The rubber stuff will arrive on Tuesday if you order it tomorrow. If Powdertech are not too busy, Michael should be able to turn it around in about 2 days. Stick it in to get powdercoated while you wait for the rubber edging to arrive.

Can hardly see the diffuser on mine .... but when you can it's black anyway, mostly

Any idea how much powdertech are for a set of wheels to be refurbed? My local place is £100 + vat but don't have the right colour. They'll definatly be needing done since the car's trip to MMC. They made a good job of cleaning on the baked on brake dust/ disk rust (could do with new rear discs atm) but cleaned a good bit of the paint off the back wheels with it  :(

Just ordered 4mtrs... in case I c*ck it up. Better get out and have a look at how to remove this diffuser then.

EDITED: Had a look... is it just those 14 bolts to undo in order to drop the diffuser? Half a dozen connecting undertray to diffuser, 2 larger ones near the middle, 2 either side near the back and then the rest along the back? ... seems straight forward, or am I going to start swearing when I realise theres a hidden one (or a special 'knack').

Think you've covered all the bolts there Andy. Only knack is to make sure you put the ones that attach the diffuser to the rest of the undertray in first, or you won't be able to reach them. They're a bit fiddly.

Looking forward to seeing pics when you've had it done.

As you said Dezzy... the finish is a bit rough in some places, but better than I would have done if I'd painted it. Besides, it'll get scratched and stuff anyway.

Drove from Livingston to Powdertec to pick it up at lunch time... got home, did the rubber edging, realised they had removed the 5 clips for the diffuser/undertray connection. Rang them up and they still had them... had to drive back again  You were right, those ones are a PIA to get back in.

Anyway... I think it finishes the back off nicely.. might give the bolts a quick dab of black paint so they blend in.
