my dad has one. a 2.3 litre (i think, maybe more).
superb car to drive!

would get one if i didnt have a perfectly good car...
ive a focus tdci (old style now) - i love it

really fun to drive.
Thanks for all the useful posts.
If it was just down to me I'd probably have looked at a Focus over a Mondeo (see first post) but wife has an irrantional hatred of them. Don't know why (obviously)... In fact left to my own devices I would be looking for one like yours and keep the balance to spend on beer, fags and a Hurricane.
A diesel would/will (being tempted by some 330ds on pistonheads at the moment) justify getting a normal car because of the savings in fuel. I can't bring myself to spend thousands on a "normal" car otherwise unless it does something special. The only FWD car I can think of that does that is an Integra at the moment. The Mazda 6 is, I'm sure, fine (re-badged Mondeo isn't it) but ain't going to tick enough boxes...

Need to stop looking at cars now
8500UKP
I know it might use a lot of petrol.
And bits are hard to get hold of.
And they use a lot of bits.
And I don't fit.
But 14000 miles what could go wrong???

Lots!

Just about everything and anything.
A £10k engine rebuild, not unheard of on an early speed six.
Doesnt look like this car has any history either.
What a price though.

Never underestimate the fun to be had in a disposable car. Something worth bugger all which you really don't care about something that can get nicked and you are more bothered about you left your fav CD in it then the car being nicked.
