camera info please
Does it tell you how many Frames per Second it captures (FPS)?
For half-decent quality (ie, smooth) motion capture you will want 30/fps on a digi camera. So. I'd guess you'd want that if you were trying to capture track action for example.
I've got a Panasonic Lumix which does 10 or 30 at any of it's available ratios. 15 is OK for occasional use (and for saving your memory card). My old Kodak was sh1t for motion capture... 13fps @ 640x480, 20fps @ 320x240.

I have no signature.
It all depends on how the camera is designed, I have one digi compact which will only use the internal memory to record video, so the max video time is approx 1 min what ever SD card you fit, however I have a newer one which does load it to the SD card when recording, so a big card really helps. Having said that, the biggest problem will be the FPS as Gorrie mentioned, and also the 4X optical zoom, most camcorders are around 20X minimum, and if you try using the digital zoom I expect the quality will be pish.
