Why am I not receiving Yahoo mails?

Post by Uldis » Tue Dec 12, 2006 3:47 pm

SE is misbehaving for me, sometimes I see a message that is actually a reply of a reply and I never received the previous ones.

Sent today a message saying that and didn't even receive that one.

I know some of the dinosaurs have had the same problem before, how was it sorted?

Uldis,

This has happened to me with the occasional Digest too. The timing of message delivery is certainly very inconsistent.

A surefire way to keep track in case you miss anything is to log onto the actual Yahoo Group site and check the online messages themselves. But like using a BBS in fact :-(

Given the tiny amount of traffic on SE Dinos now, shouldn't be a massive problem though. There is certainly a lot less drivel these days ;-)

Ok, that's it then, I'm unsubscribing from the SE1 then :(

Guess it means I'll be a little more often in here then ;)

Yeah, Uldis, don't cash in the chips on SE Dinos just yet please!

It's not the group's fault that msg delivery is a wee bit flaky.

It was ever thus! Though I think the former rates of traffic either meant
  • a) we never noticed if stuff went missing as it was quoted in so many other emails!
  • b) we never noticed if stuff went missing as it was drivel anyway
<bg>

Stay around big man, we ain't dead yet.

Unsubscribing wasn't really what I meant, more like turning off the individual messages to go and browse online.

But you're right, what's wrong with just leaving it there, maybe some day it'll sort out by itself...

I actually just switched back to individual messages today for first time since inception in 1999, pretty much...so let's compare experiences in a week or so!

We just need to get Tut to post up some drivel, maybe bait Iain T a bit to get a thread underway, and then we can track performance.

And voila, didn't receive a note from IainT but got all the later ones.

Ah, hang on...forgot to switch off my Drivel Filter ;-)

I have mine come in live to my Inbox, and though I have had the odd problem in the past, it has been fine for a long time now, with no missed postings.
