Got this emailed to me (as I'm sure others will have had too....)

At least they're making an effort since "that video" worked its way around the net & screwed up our TD insurance

YOUR KNOCKHILL 'MOT' FOR TRACKDAYS
SCRUTINEERING CHECK - SUNDAY 14th JANUARY

SUNDAY 14TH JANUARY
In 2007 all track cars must have either an MOT certificate or a 'Knockhill Scrutineering' certificate. If you have a track car without an MOT certificate we need you to come to the Circuit on Sunday 14th January and an official scrutineer will 'certify' that your car is track legal. This will be on a first come, first served basis and will be available from 9am. Cost £25.
DONT FORGET: Hot Hatch Xmas Cracker on Sunday 17th December with the WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT! Plus lots of Christmas surprises!!!

RULES!!! DON'T FORGET...

ALL drivers must show their driving licences
ALL vehicles must be fitted with a towing eye
ONE spin and you're in the sin bin, TWO and your going home!!
ALL overtaking on the straights only
ALL drivers MUST attend a safety briefing before going on track

doesnt really target the worst offenders does it. Its the bad driving standards of 'that' video that was the problem, not the cars roadworthyness.

basically, its a way for them to look like there doing something whilst charging everyone 25 quid for the pleasure

Hmmm....this kinda covers the driving standards, but it all depends on how strictly they police the rules....

those rules have never really changed, its only been how strictly enforced they have been at various times.

I suspect those rules will only be enforced for hot hatchers, hopefully top marques and well run club days wont be affected by any more of KH's daft ideas.

I read the enail wrongly the forst time and didn't notice the 'either/or' with regard to MOT or track scrutineering. Doubt I'd be too keen in paying £25 to KH If I were one of those chaps that turns up with a spanking new radical or the 996 GT racer that was there at MT

What about cars under 3 years old? They do not legally require an MOT, so why the hell should you have to pay KH for the privilege of proving your car is in good condition.

They're actually penalising drivers with newer cars . . . unless I've completely missed something. They're basically saying: "If your car is more than 3 years old and you've obeyed the law and got an MOT, that's cool, but if you have a really new car that's in perfect condition, you're going to pay us an extra £25 to prove it's in perfect condition!" WTF???

Dont worry Dezzy, as our cars are in the eyes of the law considered roadworthy, despite no actual certificate, there is no way in hell that they could/would make us get one of these certificates....

I don't think they'll be expecting it for cars less than 3 years old!
Anyway, I doubt they'll even bother enforcing it, after all every year they say "next year you'll need to bring your driving licence to each track day" and I've only ever shown mine once and that was to John Stewart.

It's like the MOT though, a bit pointless to have scrutineering once a year as once a shed has been thrashed round the track once or twice, the chances of it still being to MOT standard are pretty slim!

One of my colleagues goes to the HH events quite regularly in a track only Scirocco. For a while it was looking as if KH were going to insist on MOTs (presumably for HH days only - I don't know how you get an MOT for a F3000 car

).

This will be a relief for him as he was coming up with ever more imaginative ways around it.
