Anyone got any idea where you'd get some, the light weight aluminum type things that you see strapped to the roofs of off roaders. Mate has plans to get his new toy out of the water and we thought these would do the trick.

Could get one of those ramp trailers that people put jet skis on? Then it would be plane sailing......

Very good.
He doesn't want to tow it! (it's a bit wide for that) he's just got amphib floats (floats with retractable wheels) so he just wats something he can lay on the ground to drive it up on to when he beaches it at his place up north.
I know there are a couple of 4x4 owners here who might know where to get such things from.

If you buy one of the off road / landrover magazines they have hundreds of adverts for that sort of stuff. Might be worth a look.

One of the places I used sell these Waffle ramps

A cheaper option might be "Garden Roll Out Paths" (just Google search)
I used to have a Jet Ski and the wheels of the trailer could soon get stuck in sand or against pebbles/stones. I reckon if your mate is wanting to beach it at his place up north he might be well advised to make up some sort of beaching point with as solid and flat a base as possible. Quite a few well placed paving slabs might be a better solution than messing about with a pair of ramps.
