A dangerous trend in British politics, these televised popularity contests. Another unwelcome Americanisation as far as I'm concerned, and I stopped watching them a long time ago.

Rather than judge a party by their policies, lets judge them by whoever comes out with the wittiest quips, the zingiest one liner or the best soundbites in a TV "debate". Not big, not clever.

Didn't watch it, but as a chess move jumping in at the last minute must leave Ms May looking a bit silly. Certainly did in an interview this afternoon.

Said it before and saying it again Politics is fcuked. Totally agree with Jeremy when did performance on a TV debate become the best measure of who runs the country. (I blame Simon Cowell ..... )

On a geekily funny note, the Lib Dems have replaced their website's 404 error page with this:

Obviously I must now vote for them, as they understand my sense of humour!

September 26th 1960, I don't think we can blame Cowell. It was the Kennedy Nixon debate, Kennedycame out on top with TV viewers but Nixon came out on top with Radio viewers.

This one upmanchip and petty quips rying to make yourself look good it Politics, always has been that is why the House of commons in built with opposing benches. It promotes it.

With the way media works you will get a 15s slot on the news so you answer everything with a sh*t answer that is "on message" knowing you will get it repeated in the news hence "stronge and stable" , "coalition of chaos" and "indyref 2"

From a 20 point lead to a no majority or worse, even Jeffrey Archer could not write that one.

The thing is, hows true is it?

Lots of stories about polls over-predicting the turn out in the young, of people using the polls as their protest votes like they did with the Brexit vote, and of silent or embarrassed Tory voters, who are lifelong Labour voters who won't vote for Corbyn, but won't tell anyone either.

It'll be interesting to see by how much the Tories win at the end of the week...

It won't make any difference to my life if Labour get in other than seeing more of Corbyn and Abbott, but May has really managed to fcuk up the Election run in, she does not seem to have any idea of how to appeal to the voters.

The other Parties could promise what they like in their Manifestos as they knew they had no chance of getting in, but she could have thrown in some sweeteners as well even if she had no intention of carrying them through, once in power again what could anybody do? She has managed to turn a 20 point lead into level pegging in some polls, but hopefully the bookies have still got it correct at 1/10 on.
