It's a great winter car ya big wuss :D

(As for your worries about her insurance - I presume you saw her drive? You are right to be worried. Her other half used to race F3K. If you average the two of them out they are average drivers. Thay's how bad she is  .)

Has it been tracked? How much? How are the dampers?.. steering rack... bearings... ENGINE... HGF??... bodywork (stone chips.. etc).

Don't get caught up in all the detail, and forget to ask the obvious; how long MOT, Service & tax?... folk who bought mine never asked any of those questions (just as well coz 1 week was the answer to them all  )

Does seem a tad cheap, but then again he is maybe looking for a quick sale and wont haggle over this price.

The ad lacks detail i.e service history, no. of owners, type of tyres etc. at that kind of money you can't be too choosy.

Have a look at the following links

http://www.lotus-elise.nl/Buyers_Guide/ ... guide.html

http://www.elise-faq.info/content/buying/index.php

http://www.sandercock.com/buyelise.php

Remember these are the worst possible things to look out for and the likliehood of a car of this age is that none of these should be a real issue if it has been well maintained.

Other than, that tell them to get their skates on
:D
