Not what I expected

Post by tut » Tue Jan 26, 2016 8:28 pm

It was decision day by Shell today, and as Clare is Contract she did not expect to keep her job, which would have meant that Jamie could not have stayed onto work there either.

Best of both worlds in a way, she did not like the job she was doing thanks partly to some of the inepts that she was working with, and it will be good to have her home again for part of the year. Dogs will go mad.

Hello family!

So... today was d-day...

We're coming home! But I do still have a job.

We took a 50% cut in number of people in Project Services, a 75% cut in the Cost Team but I have been given the site Cost & Planning Engineer position on a 28/28 rotation into Iraq.

Not entirely sure when I'll be home, that all has to be decided once the dust settles, but it'll most likely be after my first roation so some time in April, will let you all know as soon as we do. We've already started getting quotes for the movers.

Lots of love xx

Will Jamie be able to carry on doing what he was doing in this, or will he be coming home full time?

Jamie has not worked for a while as he has been doing his Saturation diving course, which has taken a lot of time and cost a fortune.

I presume that he will be based here with us and do the same sort of routine that Clare does with time on and off, subject of course to the work being available in the present downturn.

ps:- we were thinking of getting a Filipino couple in as housekeeper and gardner, but this will be even better as we do not have to pay them.

Best of luck to Team Tut Junior on repatriation and redeployment.

Sounds like a fair result in the circumstances.

Hell of a ride but they do say cream floats to the top.
