Re: This place is dying....
Yeah, I know the instructions are there but like most instructions, I can't concentrate long enough to read them

Re: This place is dying....
Happy half way Christmas New Year to everyone. Spent the run up to Christmas without any data connection so hope you all had a great time and got what you wanted from Santa.

I'm still here, and I still have Robin's ECU which I need to get back to him [WHITE SMILING FACE]️. Didn't make any meetings this year as they all seemed to clash with events at Knockhill or elsewhere. Hopefully I'll see some of you in 2016.

Re: This place is dying....
I only had my Lego Elise for less than a year, I sold it 8 years ago and this is still the only forum I visit practically every day.
Admittedly I still have a vested interest in Lotus as I drive my brothers Exige regularly but the main reason I check in so often is that the atmosphere is nice. That might sound strange but one of the BMW forums I occasionally use has a thread running to 40+ pages which is dedicated to slagging off people who fit M badges to their non-M cars, complete with photos of random peoples cars in supermarket car parks. Get a life.
Whatsapp groups etc will never replace this type of forum- you don't need to know anyone to participate here.
I've met a few of you over the years but I'd be surprised if any of you recognised me in the street and yet I still feel like I'm a part of the forum.
I've had numerous long PM conversations with members on here that I've never met, but who are more than willing to share advice and experience on a broad range of things.
The regular pony express threads and offers of dropping cars off for each other, offers of free spare parts "as I have one lying around somewhere", or recommending tradesmen/services are perfect examples of just how tight a community this place is, but these offers are never restricted to a select clique- everyone is made to feel welcome.
That's a very rare thing in an online forum in my experience and one that marks this place out as special.

Ps, I can't get along with tapatalk either.

Unlikely Tut, I sold the VX in 2007 and it wouldn't be the same in a diesel hatchbacktut wrote:

Re: This place is dying....
The forum used to be good but it's just full of random posts about houses and chickens now. RIP Forum
Re: This place is dying....
The Member with over 21,000 posts as opposed to 400 did post a couple of times about chickens and the new house that he had moved into after twenty years at Tut Towers, which was probably mentioned as it had hosted six TT weekends over the years which hundreds of S_E members seemed to have rather enjoyed.

Cheers Tut, speaking of Tut End. You'll need to PM me you new address, I was out your way in the Evora today but didn't have a clue where you are now, it was a very wet drive but got me out of the house from M in Law.tut wrote:The Member with over 21,000 posts as opposed to 400 did post a couple of times about chickens and the new house that he had moved into after twenty years at Tut Towers, which was probably mentioned as it had hosted six TT weekends over the years which hundreds of S_E members seemed to have rather enjoyed.

Back on Topic, what I like about forum's is if you don't like one you have the choice to leave if that's how you feel. But I'll be here for a while yet !!!.....
