Garage lights (indoor)

Post by Kinger » Mon Dec 28, 2015 11:05 am

Hi Folks,

Currently got two 5ft fluorescent lights in my double garage and the light they produce is sh-t.

Was going to fit four double fluorescent fittings but wondered if the collective could recommend something a bit more light efficient that doesn't cost a fortune.

Cheers

I would probably stick with the tubes. Giving them a good clean works wonders.

New tubes will feel like double the light but better still, you get LED tubes nowadays, look the same but brighter and cost peanuts to run.

Even getting "daylight" rated tubes may help.

Got a couple of the smaller 18W round ones in the house now too. They're brilliant (no pun intended).

Those look good. I'd been looking at the basic 5m strips high are under £10. Those are much more pro looking. :-)

if yoo buy them to cheat on surface mounting them you can remove the wee brackets on the light and spin them 180 degrees

Presume there's no hassle getting a "Trade" account?

Though trade might be cheaper
I've bought lights from them before, good service.

Just created a trade account and the price on those fittings is 50% less.
