Here for a good time not a long time....

Post by Simon82 » Mon Dec 28, 2015 3:37 pm

Been a member for a while now and had my V6 Exige for nigh on 2 years but the time had come and it has now gone on to pastures new....It was bought with a plan of short term ownership and making the most of it which I think its safe to say I did fulfilling my ambition of doing a French Frolics in a Lotus. To say I loved the car would be an understatement.... Staying "true" to my plan though it found itself (thats a lie actually it was found by Mr Moncrieff) a new home last week and will continue to be cherished by a fellow enthusiast. I will have another Lotus again in the future, and hopefully soon but for now other ambitions and perhaps job changes meant that there was no option but to let it go...We shall see what the future holds i guess...but for now... so long my Friend and i wish you (and your new owner) miles of smiles in the future!

Simon,

Quite surprised to hear this. But perhaps we share a bit in common...I have similar sentiments with our Evora esp ref "doing a Frolic" :-)

Apologies if you shared your strategy with me at any time during that trip...I was either too drunk or too excited, or both, to take it in :-/

Time to find a buyer for the Evora soon too...

Keep us posted on those ambitions!

Campbell

PS. Cracking pics, especially the last. Where? And by whom?!

All the very best Simon! The car is a real beauty indeed and I know that you will truly miss having her around. I wish you all the best and hope to see you in another Lotus in the future.

I am however very pleased to have taken ownership as a replacement for my Aspen White S2 Exige S which a few of you will have seen.

As Simon kind of mentioned, it had a lot to do with Craig Moncrieff. Simon's V6 was in for a service at the same time as my old S2 and it was mentioned that it may just be for sale... after thinking about it for a few seconds, I decided to put the S2 in the classifieds and it sold very quickly putting me in the fortunate position to purchase Simon's V6.

In all a real credit to its former owner who obviously took great pride in ownership and a massive thanks to Craig Moncrieff for doing absolutely everything possible to make it all happen!

I hope to get along to plenty meets, activities and track days in 2016! Oh and before I forget, I may be in the market for an aftermarket exhaust if anyone fancies selling me one

Once again, all the best Simon!

Thanks,

Craig (a very proud new owner :D )

Glad to hear you are happy with the car Craig! :thumbsup

Campbell, it was mentioned on Frolics that I would probably look to sell at the end of the year but wether or not the conversation was had sober....i can't remember

The pictures were taken by Dean Smith and were for an EVO magazine group test where the pitched it against the new TT etc.

You must be sad to see it go Simon, but I am sure you enjoyed every second of ownership, as I am sure Craig is now. Lovely car in that colour.
