They would decide that Kev as they would be leasing our land, but they are putting forward planning permission for a 225kW.

Very Nice, hopefully it's low enough to get through planning without major issues and it all goes well for you.


I was going to advise getting the connection at 415V with SHEPD doing the transformer rather than turbine provider but it'll be up to VG. It changes the use of system charges into a positive benefit and is worth a lot long term.

I think what could prevent it happening is access, they would have to build a new track to get into the top field.

Forestry spec track would be fine for 225, not as crazy a weight as you'd think. If you can get stone relatively local it's not a huge cost unless it's a lot of miles. Slightly more expensive access can easily be balanced off by a relatively cheap grid cost or a better than average wind speed .

That would be the ideal Campbell, they put a 500kW one up in July in the farmer's field on the other side of our valley, and put in a new track/drive to reach it.
