Free International calls

Post by tut » Sun Nov 15, 2015 10:59 am

I do not have International calls included with my Sky phone, but do need to call now and again, Ian in Canada, Verian's family in Australia etc, and have just found this free way from landline to landline.

Company is Story telecom, no account or sign up needed, just dial 0845 1085190 and a voice will answer asking you to dial the full number and the cost will be 1p/min. As we have 0845 and 0870 numbers included in our package, it is a free call. Then call the full International number ending with the hash key.

Just tried it to Aussie and it worked fine. I will check my Sky usage in a couple of days to make sure that there are no hidden charges, but it seems to be straight up.

Wonder why I bother, or am I so out of touch that I live in my own Universe?

Not used that one. There are quite a few numbers, I have used Dial Around in the past and the cost has been minimal. You just have to be careful they don't change the charges.

Skype is 1p for most places. With 4g I talk internationally to mates on the commute.
