Multi user Phone OS agnostic controlled music?

Post by Sanjøy » Thu Oct 22, 2015 9:21 pm

Evening, in a few weeks I have a lads weekend and am looking to sort the music out.

There is an amp with a 3.5mm connection and wifi.

My initial plan was an iPad with Spotify with a playlist that everyone can contribute to. Don't know what the bandwidth is though so looking for a backup.

I can load up music on the iPad but how can I let everyone control it via their android or iPhones? At home it would be done with a PC, iTunes and apple remote on iOS devices. Can't be assed with a laptop.

Any thoughts?

For £30, buy a Chromecast audio. Plugs into the jack. Goes on the WiFi, can be controlled from multiple devices. I've been using a rocki since January which differs essentially the same.

ETA, missed the post above.

You could still do spotify but just get people to contribute in advance and then set the playlist of offline before you go away.

We do this at new year and it works really well.
Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.

....did i ever tell you about the Evora and VX220 i used to own?

What possible lads weekend situation could not be covered by The One True Playlist?

Take a guitar and several bottles of jack daniels. If the guitar still sounds crap after the first bottle of jack, start on another bottle and repeat until everyone agrees Howlin Wolf is in the house.
Arriving broadside, in a cloud of smoke......

Oh and we used a netbook so it didn't matter if it got beer on it, plus it meant we could still play games on ipads 8)
