Tyre fitting in Aberdeen or the 'shire

Post by captain » Mon Sep 21, 2015 12:09 pm

After a 320 mile blat up past Lairg and back on Friday I managed to pick up a screw in the NSF tyre about 300m from my house :( It's gone in the shoulder of the tyre and i'm never confident in repairing tyres so i've ordered a replacement advan neova. The toyo winters have arrived today but i wasn't planning on fitting them till it gets colder - maybe end October but weather dependent.

Any recommendations on local garage who know how to jack an Elise properly and can fit tyres?

Cheers,
Captain

Tyre Devotion are mobile and highly recommended. Not the cheapest, but they really know what they're doing.

LOL, just went to their website to get the correct address, only to see my Scooby on front page!

Cheers, yeah I've used them for Impreza geo before - good service once but not so much the 2nd time. They won't fit tyres they haven't supplied though.

Fine, eventually. I gave them the settings I wanted which they completely ignored and used default Impreza uk turbo settings which caused the tyres to rub like buggery. Sent them off to do it again and they wanted to charge me twice for it.

That's odd. They fitted tyres I supplied for me earlier in the year.

I've used motorwerks in Forest Av Lane, Aberdeen AB15 4TW 01224 313399 and was happy enough with service/care taken.

No problem with fitting supplied tyres or changing over wheel/tyres.

I've used motorwerks several times with no problems. You'd be best to try and book a slot it's not really a drive in drive out operation. Ideally drop off the wheels and tyres.
I had no joy with tyre devotion, despite having 12 tyres to swap, 8 used winters and 4 new summers, the new tyres seemed to be the issue.

I bought me a tyre changer and balancer. Got sick of taking it to garages and tyre shops who didnt have a clue. Also garages refused to fit a tyre to a loose wheel etc. One of the best things i bought for a while now

I have considered that in the past with endless sets of summer and winter wheels for the family fleet, but the fact I've never used one has put me off. Would you be up for doing a demo, I'd be interested to see how easy or difficult it is.

You can't mock me Clark. Lack of progress is entirely your fault now.
