Ice driving in Sweden and Prostate Cancer UK

Post by Kelvin » Fri May 08, 2015 4:37 pm

I was at a do in the Landmark in London last night my other half organises in support of Prostate Cancer UK. She managed to get some great auction prizes including this:

I of course bid on this and won it. Looks like fun. All expenses paid for two. Ginny and I are really looking forward to it. We got it for a steal really £1600 for a package that costs £1600 just for one and just for the driving day so it's more like a £5000 trip. As a result we'll donate a little more than the winning bid!

In total we raised £25000 for Prostate Cancer UK. A great charity.

Met a lovely bloke called Errol McKellar (claimed he was a distant relative of Kenneth which he clearly isn't!) Errol is an ambassador for Prostate Cancer UK. He was diagnosed a few years ago and decided to raise awareness of Prostate Cancer. He runs a garage in Hackney and offers folk a 20% discount off their bill if they go and get their prostate checked. As a result, 30 guys have had an early diagnosis of prostate cancer which they've subsequently survived.

If you haven't had your prostate checked recently go and do it and clearly something closer to home for us on here!

Also met the Rev Richard Coles. He's a good laugh but a sh*t auctioneer as he kept missing the bids!

You are now our Ice Man, Kelvin.

Well done and indeed a great cause.

I will spare the community the blushes of my most recent prostate MOT :-)

I've been to Are a few times as one of my customers had a apartment there. Great place to be in winter. I spotted the cars on the lake last time I was there and thought I would do it next time. As well as skiing we have done s skidoo tour for the day and also a husky tour with an over night camp with hot tub in the middle of no where amazing star gazzing.

Enjoy.

Good to know. We plan on staying longer to get some skiing in as we won't get to do our annual trip to Canada next year.
