Lotus SUV - It's official!

Post by flyingscot68 » Tue Apr 28, 2015 5:30 pm

I'm not a fan of these types of cars, but as they seem to be a good way of keeping the bottom line healthy why not? It works for Porsche.

Maybe the Lotus SUV will change my mind, I doubt it but time will tell, guess this is really aimed at the Chinese anyway, that's where they plan to build it.

Something is going on, both the article and forum topic have just been removed.

The header is still there though under news/british cars.

Strange............. I wonder if PH have fallen foul of a wind up

Probably will not be my thing, but, if it helps the Lotus company to survive, then it can only be good news :thumbsup

2019 i suspect a few people might be looking for some sort of family wheels - this might fit in, but who knows.

Here's hoping its a looker which would help it massively!
AMG GT-R
Atom 4 - CM425
Lotus Esprit S4S
G30 M5 Comp
Ferrari 599
Lotus Elise S1 "Shed" spec

Better looking than the Porsche SUVs is the main challenge.

Easy-peasy then.

Caught my attention. Whether our Skoda Wagen stretches until 2020, is an interesting question. Maybes there will be an interim solution for us. Who knows.

Interested to see what the sketches look like in due course.

Definitely the way for Lotus to go so that they can generate some much needed revenue from China and US (if they can get it through the regs).

Don't think it will sell well in the UK except for people who are already aficionados of Lotus marque, majority of people would go for the Porsche - which is unfortunately Lotus's problem in the UK.

Smart move if you ask me, worked for Porsche and if it brings in the cash so that they can develop more sports cars then great. No one looks at Porsche and thinks yeh the brand is not what it was because the now sell SUVs - if they do then I think they are just stupid. Porsche is at the top of their game just now both in the hypercar world and sports car world and that's down to the fact the SUVs are bringing in the cash for them to keep ahead in the development game.

And the motorsport world. 3 car line-up for Spa this weekend, and look at the driver list!

If Lotus sell turds but spend it all on racing, that suits me fine! :)
