BMW Z4M Brakes
BMW Z4M Brakes
My brother needs new brakes for his bimmer, front and rear, discs and pads. Costs seem to be insane!
Any suggestions where to source OEM from?
Thanks
James

Re: BMW Z4M Brakes
Another one for Europarts
Also look at changing the brake fluid to fully synthetic (Dot 5.1) ............makes a big difference
I know someone who managed to boil the brakes on a 6 series...........

Re: BMW Z4M Brakes
Is your brother called Lewis?
I emailed him a massive mail yesterday, if not - here is what I said as it will apply to your bro too if he's not the same person!
I tried various discs, pads etc. on my Z4m and the racecar runs CSL size fronts too.
Pads - I would highly recommend Ferodo DS2500, great fast road pad, not cheap, but will last forever (I have separated EBC’s, Mintex, OEM and various other have gone on fire)
As for discs, I have used DBA’s from Australia, I cracked one top to bottom. OEM discs are the best discs available. The holes in them are cast and not drilled, so dissipate heat better and wont crack, that’s why we use them in the race car too (e36 m3 with a S54 CSL engine).
However, JC are a total waste of time for buying parts, cars, general after service.
Speak to Ewen at Clark Motorsport, he will sort you out with the discs, pads etc. tell him I sent you he will do you a decent price for the above parts.
Tell him you want a price for OEM discs via Eurocarparts (the discs are made by Pagid, so the ones you get are Pagid branded, not BMW, but the exact same thing) – they have a decent trade account so far cheaper than we would buy from JC. They are also the ferodo dealer for pads etc.
There are other really good pad options, but the S2500 worked best for me.
While you are doing that I would recommend changing the OEM brake fluid out for Millers Competition Fluid – you will notice a huge difference in pedal feel and zero brake fade when used with the OEM discs / DS2500 pads.
Hope this helps.
Ewen’s email is ewen@clarkmotorsport.co.uk and his phone no is 01330 860999, they are just outside Blackburn, so fine and local.

Re: BMW Z4M Brakes
Jamie runs CL RC6 pads, Millers fluid and OEM discs
I sorted him out with them all through Clark motorsport
(PS> Its my fault he ended up with the Z4M, and its his fault I look at them after every time I drive his)
