Rev Limits - Sunday Run

Post by SAJ » Mon Mar 23, 2015 2:02 pm

Just wanted to share this picture with you all from our run this Sunday. Great selection of cars from Lotus and Lamborghini to Porsche and Aston Martin. We were very lucky with the weather, probably one of the best days we've had yet along with very little traffic up in the Crieff area.

I'm not sure if that's a good thing  or a bad thing

In the morning at the start a few cars were lost so I went looking for them, when I called them the only help they could give me was "You must be close by because we can hear you" turns out I was 2 miles away :damnfunny

Pretty good, I'm strict on the rules of the run. If you don't follow them your out which seems to keep folks in line. Those that want to drive quicker we always wave them by and let them go for it. I have a limit for myself which I don't exceed on the roads where as others take it further, for them everyone lets them get to the front and leaves them to it.

I think the turn out of the types of cars is down to the reputation we have of having well organised runs which aren't filled with boy racers being total knob ends.

The rules are:

1. No racing!
2. No racing!
3. Know your limits and stay well within them. There is no expectation to keep up with those comfortable driving faster.
4. Respect other road users - the roads are for everyone.
5. Respect the driving conditions - if it is damp/wet don't drive like it is dry.
6. Don't do blind overtakes - this not only compromises your safety but also everyone else on the road.
7. Keep a safe distance behind the driver in front of you so you have plenty of time to react in an unexpected situation.

Steve you know that it is insanely loud    and that is me saying that. I lasted from MMC to Bathgate before a phone call went to Craig to swap it back to the previous one. It is over 130db and I don't actually know how loud it is as the sound level meter tops out at 130db :D

I'd need somesort of ear defenders to last the journey up it's that mental. Didn't christen it El Matador for nothing and it really would annihilate Lamborghinis.

Also still not sure I'm going yet or not as it's during Ramadan.

There is no doubt in that Tony. We have a Lamborghini Garllado in the group that had to go decat and x-pipe to get close. I say close because it still hasn't quite matched the 2Bular for volume but then a V10 at full chat is always going to sound awesome anyway :)

El Matador was design with the sole purpose of annihilating Lamborghinis and anything else out there. One thing that was interesting about that setup was that the car felt like it had been remapped once it was on. Not something I'd felt with the setup I have now.

Also will let you know about Speedfest... :thumbsup
