And we loved May swapping in English Stig for his run.

best thing I've seen on TV this week (although I had sky+'d Andy Murray in case he won!)

As for that mine route - genius - at last something original, and original cars - as opposed to sheds was quite a change.

Surprised nothing was said about the GTR's ride, which is firm on the road, let alone thousands of miles of dirt & gravel tracks. Logistics must have been a challenge as it didn't look like they saw many/any fuel stations.

Not sure why at the conclusion if worried about depreciation Clarkson didn't suggest picking up a 12-18 month old M6 after it had lost the 40-45% he was talking about!

Forgot all about it and I especially wanted to watch last nights.

When I was in Oman, General Tim Creasy was Commander of the Sultans Armed Forces(SAF) so my boss, and as such he had his family out with him, the only one that did in those days. He had a gorgeous 18 year old daughter Pauline who I went out with for a while, but it ended when she found out that I was married. However we are in touch again after all these years via FB, and I am going to see them all again as they have a shooting Estate, Strathvaich near Garve.

She told me that her daughter Susie was on top gear last night, you could not miss her, she was the stunner behind Keifer's left shoulder, so gives you an idea of what her mother looked like. Just watched it on iPlayer and it was like seeing Pauline again. She is 60 now but still a lovely lassie.

Talking of depreciation!
What do you think the manufacturers have done with those three cars after the trip? The bodywork & undersides must be absolutely knackered from all the dust, stones & rocks!
Would they just write them off? Actually not bad value for an hours advertising on global prime TV!

I found it very entertaining.

I wonder if they did they hill climb on the standard tyres -if so, impressive that they did not have any punctures.

Good question!

One of my pals works with them, and I know certain manufactures are happy for them to take their cars and do what ever they want with them (car football) and write them off, given the publicity it gets them.

I really enjoyed last nights show too, that Bentley was amazing!

I've done a lot of driving in the outback, punctures were so common we used to carry two spare tyres along with a tubeless repair kit and a big compressor, and that was for our 4x4's. Like Dominic says, I'd be amazed if they never got any punctures on those low profile road tyres.

The dust there is also a big problem. It is very fine, like talcum powder in places and it gets in to everything - again, amazed that those cars had no issues at all.

Does anyone know what mine that was? It looked like Tom Price to me but that's in WA not NT.

Really enjoyed it.

Saw May jangling about in the GTR and was surprised he didn't mention it. Thought May would have been more Conti than GTR but there we go. Very impressive Stig run up the hill.

Very surprised by the drag race results, I thought you needed some exotic metal to beat that
