I do not use this as I presume it is mainly for business people but I opened an e-mail from the Marquee Company that did Clare's wedding and next thing I am getting dozens of e-mails back saying that my invitation was sent out to 363 selected contacts.
I don't suppose it does any harm as many of you seem to use it, but just thought that I would let you know, as similar things happen with spam and address books.

LinkedIn don't spam, but they try very hard to trick you into agreeing for them to mine your address books to "see who else you may know on LinkedIn"
An email from another member will not do this automatically though, so you might want to retrace your steps to see what happened.

I went to click on what I thought was "like or recommend" as they did an excellent job, but it obviously said "click this and I will send an invite to everyone in your Contacts, Friends, or indeed anybody that you may know or have ever met in your lifetime."
