NLT - mixing branded tyres

Post by T6 KFR » Mon Sep 08, 2014 8:17 pm

Im in a bit of a pickle. I had a slow puncture on my daily drive, issue was a large screw :-)

So took the car along to the local garage where they tried plugging it with no success. I agreed to pay for a new tyre of the same brand.

Came back few hours later to find the car ready with a continental contact 5 tyre where my other tyres are all continental contact 3. They did say they had checked and this wasnt going to cause any issues with handling.

I wouldnt care but the car is new and only 3 months old now : should i have rejected what they did, im trying to see both sides that they wanted to give me the car back for getting home???

Whats the thoughts on this?

TIA

Kev

If i am reading the detail right as long as the size, speed indicator etc...matches there should be no issue ?

Its whether my OCD allows me to have an odd pattern on the car :-)

That's how I read it. Now share your OCD despite running part worn tyres and remolds in the past. But do you put the odd tyre front or rear. :blackeye
