Have to admit that I watched virtually none of the Games, as when I do I want to watch the best in the World, which means the Olympics first and then the World Championships.

Scotland came third in the medal table, and no bronze was awarded in one of the diving events as not enough teams entered. They would have actually done well in the Olympics if they had been competing as a separate Nation and come in 12th, but that was largely thanks to Hoy, Murray and rowing.

Scotland might have won more medals than ever before (53 in total) but there were 3x more medals available compared to Edinburgh's games in 86 during which we won 33. Surely if our sporting success was improved and the fact that we choose the events to complete in, we should have won more than we did
