Solicitors in Dundee (nlc)

Post by StiflerMR2 » Fri Apr 25, 2014 12:41 pm

Hey all,

I'm looking to put my Dundee house on the market this summer but having been out of Dundee for the past 4 years I'm not really sure which Solicitor to use. The last time I bought and sold in Tayside I used RSB McDonald for selling (who were terrible) and bought from Blackadders (who were equally terrible).

It may just be that they are all awful or I have been terribly unlucky (or over demanding ;)) but if If anyone has had a nice experience or would like to recommend a firm please do!

Any help gratefully recieved :cheers

-Mark.

I can recommend Alan Connelly. Offices in Arbroath / Carnoustie. (http://www.connellyyeoman.com). Sold my house in 1 week back in 2010 when the market was tits up. Edited to say we were old neighbours and my dad knows him well too. Really nice chap.

I have to recommend talking to scottishelises very own "mrbennybennett" for your home survey too , they were superb.

Mark

Yes if you need a home report give me a shout - I work for J&E Shepherd Surveyors and can usually get a bit of SE discount with our guys up in Dundee

I use Ken Thomson at Thorntons in Dundee for my legal stuff - he is a decent guy and easy to deal with

Just been on the phone with Miller Hendry for a free valuation but I'll phone a few others as well.

I image we'll need a home report doing at some point so will be in touch nearer the time if thats ok?

Thanks all

Yeh my mum and his mum are sisters - my mum has 4 brothers and 4 sisters so I have plenty of cousins kicking about Dundee

I used to do summer work experience at Shepherds when i was at school and worked with Tonner for a good few months - great banter

No worries fellas. I think we actually used G&S back in 2006.

I'll ring around Monday morning and get a few appointments booked :)

Just had the first round of valuations and fees back... Fees seem more than I remember! I was off out to look at an elise today with a view to buying.

I'll be knocking that on the head!

We bought our property from the Chamber Practice. I don't feel the way they marketed the property as well as they could have. However that was a big bonus for us though :)
