All pre-planned.

Gives the RAF pilots the chance to get a few hours in and wave to their comrades.

All pish I chased them off in my Nimrod and two Tornados back in 1986 when I was on a 18hour sortie from Kinloss that was fun and we had live weapons .

Really ? pre-planned ?

I understood it went on relatively often but didnt think it was planned.

I just loved how small the typhoon looked in comparison.

Inasmuch as they are just having fun.

Russians know the fighters will come up and escort them, Brits know that they pose no threat.

Generally all very friendly, but I bet the Russians have gathered a fair amount of data on response times.
