Price is £25K on PH, so reduced on SELOC.

He expects me to haggle, but looking at what is available I think the price is close to the mark, and I would probably just try to get the second set of wheels thrown in. As for the hardtop, i would think that I would get thrown out of S_E if I turned up wearing that.

I asked scuffers what he thought of the car but he does not actually know it. However he did pick up one point that I had as well, the split rear subframe. I thought that it should have been replaced and not welded, but did not notice that the lugs had been cut off.

"Hi tut,

I think you probaly know more about it than I do, never seen it apart from what's on selcock.

car looks smart enough, engine bay pic is not great, very much crammed with stuff as opposed to being well laid-out, so going to be hard to maintain and keep clean.

I can see they have cut the corner off the subframe for example, something I would consider stupid (that fillet is there for a reason), and I can only imagine what else there is under that lot.

that said, at the right price? - I would be thinking more like 20....tops

Cheers

Simon"

That was the model that I was looking to buy when I came back from Oman in 1977, £6K at that time, but got married and bought a house instead.

"Honda sc mpg

Just done 260miles before the refuel warning came on. Worked out at about 38mpg after I refuelled. I feel sad that I haven't made the most of those miles.

I have the following in SELOC Classifieds:-
S2 Honda SC/CC Elise - £23,750 Private Car Sales"

I like the sound of that.

Thanks Richard, N3 is still U/S but if I can make it down as a pax at all on Saturday then I would probably come down.

We can not tie down this problem with the wiring/electrics Alan.

Had a spare ECU so it is not that, same with the MFRU. One minute it can be running fine, then starts trying to fire on two cylinders, or that is what it sounds like. Craig wants to try a set of coil packs next, so borrowing a set from Hamish.

Will give you a call tomorrow and explain in more detail.

Any codes stored in ECU? is it actually running on two cylinders (confirmed) or just running rough?

If we can start with the fault codes, that would be great.

Cheers, Alan

Hi Alan,

No fault codes apart from usual in an elise not civic stuff. All sensors seem to give some semi realistic signal and is running so rough it points (at least to me) as an output problem. Seems to be a permanent fault now so should be easier to track, but certainly only 2-3 cylinders, runs like sh*t.

Pretty pathetic I know Martin, but there are no S1's of that spec around.
I think it actually looks pretty good in that black and white colour scheme and you will not have to wait for me now when we have to stop and put the roofs on.

Pity that it does not have electric windows, but it has a woofter behind the seats and full carpeting and leather all around, and an Alpine unit with an iPod connector.
