Somewhere with good steak would be nice.

Dunno about steak but The Rogano is excellent for seafood and cocktails. :-)

Bit out of the city centre (just near art galleries) but the butcher shop is excellent for steak, highly recommended...

As mentioned steaks is probably butcher shop if you don't mind being a bit outside City Centre.
If you want city centre then No 29 royal exchange square or Grill on the Corner Bothwell Street are pretty good.
Would need to book I expect and still won't get prime time now.

None of them cheap, been at grill on the corner tonight 50% off food, 2 courses no excessive drinking, cheaper wine and still cost £40 a head for 4 of us.

Thanks for that, but a bit to far out for what we want. Has some very good reviews on Tripadvisor.

For a steak in the city centre, Grill on the corner (very good but not cheap), or Max's on Queen St, very good, and very cheap, but more of a pub than restaurant.

If going for grill on the corner you get something like 40% discount if you have a black card, just have to mention it when booking.

Not certain if restricted to certain days but sure someone on here with a card could help if you are planning on going there.

Cheers,

Have eaten there too, was nice. Felt a little underdressed on a Saturday night impromptu night out!
What's a black card?

Basically like their membership card,I do have one but have never used it so not sure of the setup.

Think it entitles you to 40% off all food so an excellent saving.

Thanks for all posts, we ended up in Charcoals , very good food and great , friendly staff. They are quite high up on Tripadvisor, which once again , found us a good place to eat.
