Having returned from my hols, my new shoes were awaiting me in my office today. As I have always suspected, the puma speed cat "driving shoe" is quite a bit substandard compared to proper driving shoes (like my old Sparcos). The sole is much firmer, and there is not the reinforced panel on the side of the foot where you heel and toe (using the ball of foot rolling on the brake pedal technique). Having said all that, the softer soled Sparcos wear out very quickly if you walk about in them too much (as apposed to just wearing them for driving). On that basis, I think the Pumas are a pretty decent shoe for my purposes, and at less than a third of what I have paid for the Sparcos in the past, they seem great value for money. :thumbsup
