Went years ago and can't really remember detail. Normally go for grandstand at the end of the pit straight and did so there and wasn't disappointed, public transport to the circuit was good but got really busy especially on race day.
Stayed in a hotel at the top end of Las Ramblas so always plenty drinking/eating opportunities. There is a reputation for pickpockets and muggings around Barca but if you're careful and stick to the main public areas it shouldn't be an issue. I guess it was about 10 years ago when I went so the specifics are probably irrelevant which is good as I can't remember them anyway.

I went a couple of years ago but can't remember any details. I booked my bus before I left and had seats at the end of the pits so we saw all the overtaking at the end of the pit straight.

I will speak to Ann tonight and get some details

I was there in 2000 for the MotoGP.

I thought the best place to sit was in the grandstand area over the back, C on that map, you can see lots of the track there and watch them hammering down towards the two right handers on to the start/finish straight. Granstand A wouldn't be a bad choice though.

We also stayed in Las Ramblas, it was a vibrant little place that weekend and very busy.

Barcelona is well worth a few days visit if you have time.

Myself and SWMBO were in Barca 3 weeks ago - Stayed at the Zenit Borell, in L'Eixample - Quiet area, but 5 minute walk from the nearest Metro (Hospital Clinic).

Hotel was reasonably inexpensive (sub-£80 per night), clean and modern, although the rooms are rather small.

If flying into El Prat, get a T10 travel card from one of the machines at the Renfe station - Covers the train into the city, as well as use of the Metro (up to x10 journeys).

Haven't been to the GP, but it is appealing - Barcelona's a fantastic city to visit :thumbsup

I was there for the testing in Feb and I think if I was going for the GP I'd get seats in the G/C section.
You can see a lot of the track from that part.

David,

Yep you definitely need a car as it is out of the city but it's nice and easy to get to the circuit and think it took us 20 mins to get to the periphery of the queues. There were 6 of us so we ended up hiring a venga bus from Avis.

As it on Sawdays Special Place's to Stay, you would definitely not be dissapointed. I have used this website numerous times and each B&B/Hotel has always proven to be really good and not yet had a bad experience.

It was a while ago I was there. Either 1999 or 2000. I had a seat in the G grandstand in the 18 - 24 section. I remember it was a good location as you could see the cars braking at the end of the short straight and then take in 4 corners. When I was there the kink on the right before the turn into the last straight didn't exist and you could hear who was lifting for the 2nd last corner compared to those who kept their foot in.

Can't remember where we stayed but it was a 2 min walk to a metro stop then 5 or so stops to the main square above Las Ramblas. This worked really well for us. Metro was safe and clean so didn't feel we missed out not being right by the port or in the centre.

Another one stayed at square off las Rambles , sat at the end of the start straight which was good for 1st turn action. Only downside was transport as the train was bonkers full like tokyo rush hour if i was doing it again i would do it like we did at Spa and do a package deal no hassle.
