Engine bay

Post by jimbo » Tue Oct 22, 2013 11:08 pm

Did any s1's come with a plastic half moon shaped cover for the boot area? I seem to recall seeing one at some point.

And the cheap looking silver tubing that covers what I think is the wiring to the aerial, is that standard? Any bright ideas for what to replace it with? (just tidying lots of little things up just now)

Cheers

Yes, early models, pre 98 i think , had a plastic cover in the boot, and an ally divider between the engine and boot, later ones have a fiberglass one integral to the rear clam.
The cheep looking ally foil cover on the ariel is standard fittment ;-)

Cool, cheers Stu. I might get a black samco hose and replace it ;-)

The plastic half moon doesn't fit a fibre glass boot box clam, well, without (clam) modification anyway. I have a fibre glass boot clam on a car that was originally an alloy boot box and had to cut down the top edge of the boot (bulkhead end) to allow my alloy boot lid to close, and the half moon still didn't fit, so there is a fair bit of difference in that area.
