I don't class this as unusual but one i've always wanted since primary school and have never bought, I think it's a never meet your hero thing for me in case of disappointment..

Image

See I've had a power+ Engineering 1.9 version of this so I think I'll always be expecting great things from my MK3 memories..

Image

I love old classic fast fords....

Bucket list also includes a red Countach, naturally!

Graeme, Metro Turbo is way forward, had one for a couple of months, my first ever turbo... woooah!

Then there was the time I dreamed of this... (A bit more unusual)

There's been some very loose entries under the "car" banner (I'm looking at you, smee) so I feel okay about dropping this one:

Alvis Stalwart.

Still not 100% sure why, other than I grew up in the Cold War and, well, it's a 6 wheel drive swimming truck FFS!

Drove one in a place in Galloway a few years back and even though that one was a shed that didn't have swim gear, I had a great laugh.

Love those TVR wedges. As 80's as a Filofax, panel gaps you could drive a bus though, but somehow cool nonetheless 8)

From a similar era, I always quite fancied one of these. A mid engined 3 seater long before McLaren got there with the F1 :)

Great thread!... it's a bit like a confession of car fetishes that you can't declare elsewhere. :damnfunny

For me;

Jaguar XJ6 (70's)
Jaguar XJ8 (late 90's)
80's / early 90's Merc E Class (W124)
Same era, BMW 325i Sport (E30)
1960's Mini Cooper
1980's Range Rover
Rolls Royce Silver Shadow

Think I got my Maserati's wrong as it could be the Shamal that I was always interested in. There has to be something cool about having a spoiler just below the front window !!!

I also forgot to include the Venturi Altantique in my list as well (http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C380716)

George
I remember the ex tvr salesman who had a garage in Dalkeith (his name escapes me) had one those venturis for sale years ago. Went to have a look, loved its rareness and exclusivity but didnt know enough about them. He had it for ages and i think it was around 25k. Lhd too.
Alan McDonald - floppy-haired city boy - he also had a Maserati Karif which was a mega-rare Biturbo derivative with short wheelbase and more power, tis one of my desires too 8)

Dad bought a Talbot Alpine back in the late 70s and they had a Rancho in the showroom.

Gorgeous. (Now, less so).
