Anyone on here going to Monza for the GP this year.
Going out on the 5th and back on the 11th. Staying in Lecco. Training to the GP but hire car also sorted. Sat, Sun at Monza. Stelvio Monday, Maranello Tuesday. Could go to Monza on the Friday also. Any suggestions? Have been before so have kinda done Milan.

If you are going to Maranello, get booked for a factory tour at Pagani - about 20 mins drive away. It is well worth it! If you are doing this, get it booked sooner than later.

I'm heading out from 5th - 10th. Staying in Milano - not been there before.

we stayed in Milan & got the train to Monza
bloody nightmare...!
get there early for the train & prepare for long queues
when you arrive in Monza, you are put on buses - like cattle
place is grid locked. We got off the bus, cos my mate was going to throw up & walked it. We got there before the bus
If I was doing it again - I would stay in Monza or Como / lecco
enjoy it!

Two negatives make a positive but only in Scotland do two positives make a negative - 'Aye right.'

Have checked out the trains from/to Lecco and will get one to the Lesmo corners both Sat and Sun. Takes an hour from Lecco as it is a real local train. Alternative is into Monza in 30 mins and then hoof it. Did the Milan train/bus gig 2 years ago and it was a nightmare. ended up walking into Monza one day which was a revelation as Monza old town is a really nice spot.Done this 2 years ago

We stayed on outskirts of Monza - and on many peoples advice got a taxi early from our hotel. Ended up wandering around a country park at 9am in the morning with little happening
Lesser formula and Porsche cup started after that which provided some entertainment - but there is little of the pzazz (sp) that you see at other circuits unless you have a pit lane pass I guess.
Taxi driver knew all the back roads and side streets to get us within a mile of the circuit. My advice would be to get to hotel or similar establishment around 9am, order taxi and get there around 10am. There really isn't a lot to do at the circuit - small F1 village and a wander through the park will take you an hour max (though the tifosi building their tree houses in the centre of the track are a sight to behold)!
At the end - sod the buses - massive queues. Walk into Monza (around 45 mins walk at leisurely pace) and sort train etc from there.
Where are your seats booked for? We sat just before parabolica which wasn't bad - and brilliant for atmosphere - but the real action happens on the start/finish straight and chicane I think.
You'll love it though - brilliant banter in the crowd!
Nearly forgot - wee link to our story from the day - brings back nice memories
