Tut is the master of making insurance pay
I am so anti-insurance that I wouldn't even take out the paltry £9 2-year insurance on my new glasses (total cost, £88 for two pairs)
Even knowing that I am bound to lose or break them in that time, I cannot bring myself to buy the insurance - some sort of niche OCD perhaps?
Cheers,
Robin

I am similarly afflicted, I take out car/bike insurance because I have too but loathe the upselling tactics of 'for another £x we can sell you a warranty that covers the new tv you've just bought '... that has a manufacturers warranty on it FFSrobin wrote:Tut is the master of making insurance pay![]()

Re: Credit Card Protection(CCP)
I have only ever taken out what I had to or would be silly not to Robin, ie cars, buildings, contents, AA, but the CCP was a good bet for the first year at £20 as it covered the whole family, so when you have that many credit cards, bank cards, store cards, passports, keys, licences between you, one phone call sorted out the lot if any were lost and also covered you for identity fraud which your bank and credit card company do not, just fraudulent transactions. However when it went up to £70 I cancelled, though they were loath to let go.
Unfortunately for them they told porkies and where they have slipped up was in saying that you were covered for thousands in the event of fraud, whereas it turned out to £50. As the banks were in collusion with them as usual and receiving commision, they are now screwed for £1.3 billion. Opinion is that there are yet more skeletons to crawl out of the banks cupboards, which of course we will pay for in the long run.
