Beware of the bull.....

Post by tut » Sat Aug 10, 2013 5:44 pm

Left home this afternoon for the Lotus meet up at Archie's, just before Old Meldrum the cars in the opposite direction were flashing like mad, so I thought thanks chaps, must be a Scam Van ahead.

Went round the bend and into a huge bull in the middle of my lane and stopped a few inches short. So I am a couple of feet up and he is so bloody big that his balls are swinging alongside the side window. He looked at me, I looked at him, he did not try to nut me, so slowly backed up and went around him, then called the cops.

Just hope that nobody hit him, not so worried about the car, but would have hated to see him hurt.

Could have been nasty. Vet at my brother's work was killed last year when she hit a black cow at night on the road.

My mate crashed into a cow on his Honda CBR900 Fireblade when we were out in Germany. The farmer was moving the cattle between fields on his farm, discected by a public road. The cow was knocked over, he went over the cow and the bike slid down the road. Both rider and cow were pretty much unscathed, bike needed some cosmetic work

Sounds similar to when I met a (approx 300kg) bullock on Lenzie Moss, one of our local nature reserves, recently. Called police scotland who didn't have Lenzie Moss on their system-the wonders of centralised call centres! Got that cleared up and told someone was on their way. Then heard on the news 2 1/2 hrs later that the Glasgow Edinburgh train line was closed due to a train hitting a cow. Poor beast

Anybody else would have taken a photo of the bull on their phone, but I never thought of it.

Yep, that's what I did but couldn't get close enough to either catch or take good picture

I was the opposite, too close.

His balls would have filled the frame.

I have attended a few accidents involving cattle and they can be very messy. Cows often have their legs taken from under them when they are hit so end up on, or in the car and its never good to have half a ton of rare steak come through your windscreen :?

Usually it's 'a picture paints a thousand words' but those words have just given me a mental immage that will probably haunt me for some time, thanks for that tut.
