Deep paint scratch (nlc)

Post by j2 lot » Wed Jul 31, 2013 9:18 pm

Ann had her car badly keyed at work today - full length of the passenger side and down to the metal in several places. I haven't had a chance to see if any of it will polish out but at least some of it will need sprayed.

If we go for a mobile repair any recommendations in Lanarkshire/ Glasgow area? How do Chipsaway or similar operators compare on price and quality against a body shop? ( car is black metallic)

That's the third time I have heard this in the past few weeks. Must be the school hols....

Sorry, little help, but makes my blood boil.

So sorry to hear that guys.

I had some of my cars keyed too. Can't see the point of doing this.....

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

Sorry to hear about this, boils my piss. Stealing a stereo to feed a drug habit I understand, but not keying someone else's property for fun.

I've only ever heard bad or lukewarm feedback on mobile chips away type repairers. Body shop every time for me.

All of this makes me wonder why cars haven't progressed in the bodywork area. All these new fangled composite materials yet we're still painting mild steel bodies to stop them corroding like we did 50 years ago. Cheap maybe but I'm sure there's something better and potentially even cheaper out there.

I like how the Smart body panels are body coloured all the way through. Someone keys it, no big deal. Dare I say it, pretty 'smart' idea :leave

That's what I thought but worryingly Ann thinks her car was targeted as it was the only one done and she has been dealing with some 'difficult' issues in the nursery

I'm so shy and retiring, and I never say anything controversial that I think it must have been random :D
