If a buyer says something like "I here the standard brakes can be a bit poor - how have you found them?.. then that would be the time to say, "actually I upgraded them to .... " and if you are feeling cheekie... "...I did not notice much difference, but then I'm not a fast driver" :damnfunny
Great advice. If the person viewing it is an enthusiast, it should be very simple to convince them in a couple of sentences that you've made the car better by fitting alternative parts because you are enthusiastic about the car, and like to learn and treat it right - only the best will do ethos. It also plays well towards regretting selling it, and showing that it's a car you planned to keep - but only if you have a good believable reason for selling of course!

For a normal / non-educated buyer who will believe that BMW know best, it simply leads to thoughts that it's been abused and owned by a boy racer with a credit account in Halfords.

Good Ad Clarkie, but,... I would be tempted to loose the picture of the E30; it does not really promote the image of a sensible gentle driving owner. Just my 2p :thumbsup

Ad is great, reads very well. though no mention of Tax or MOT seems strange to me.

Personally, I'd also change your tyre section to say June 2013 rather than last month as people won't know when the ad was posted and get some good pictures of the damage to show you're being honest and that it's small, use something for reference in the photos (like 5p) to emphasize how small it is etc.. You don't need to post them in the ad, but have them ready to email on.

Good luck with the sale, it's a great looking car!

As we're doing ad feedback, can I rudely interupt and ask for some feedback on this ad? (will make a new thread if required). Feel I've maybe been a bit too honest/not talked it up enough.

Nice ad.

"there are some stonechips on the front bumper as to be expected from a car the has been abused on our roads!!"

Better? :D

Isn't that quite keenly priced for a 160?

Priced where it is due to the miles really. Had one email from a guy in France offering quite a bit less, but that was after posting this. Had expected some time wasters at least.

I wonder if the price could even put people off as they expect a 160 to go for more.. Other than that, ad looks good.
