Think it is still Hydro that make the chassis for Lotus
Do I not remember Lotus actually buying the Hydro plant that makes their chassis, pre Bahar, when they had a little cash left?

I seem to remember hearing something similar to that Shug- unless Mr Bahar sold it along with the family silver I think it is Lotus owned.

As far as I was aware Norsk Hydro always produced the elise chassis.(and the Renault spider) The customer pays for the tooling and Norsk makes and sells the aluminium by weight + assembly.

I do remember lotus buying a manufacturing place in the north of England.

I'm sure I read that the bodywork moulds were sold to caterham.
I could be wrong, but think I read it in an elise lotus history article.
I have have been thinking about the caterham which was made under licence ?
I'll have to dig out a few mags and do research,
