Post by BiggestNizzy » Tue May 07, 2013 12:37 pm

I know a few people of here have fitted them as well as ground source heat pumps etc. If memory serves me correctly does someone on here sell them?

Anyway a guy at work is seriously concidering having them fitted, if anyone has any good info or wan't to sell them I can pass on his details.

If you phone the Energy Saving trust they can provide quite a lot of useful info including what grants are available etc.

:withstupid

We got them fitted just before the feed-in tariff was reduced. Used a company called PV Solar after some discussion on here. They weren't cheap compared to some other companies but we also got a package that included smart metering for our gas central heating ,app based control of our heating and a web based monotoring of our heating usage and pv generation.

For me the whole package feels well designed and is easy to use but it did cost more and I would say their estimate of our pv generation was optimistic so it will take longer to cover our initial outlay than they were predicting - they reckoned 7-8 years but I think 9 or 10 will be nearer the mark
Still happy though and we are getting a much greater % return on out cash than we ever would with current interest rates.
