End of an era

Post by Noops » Tue Apr 09, 2013 8:55 am

After many years of Elise ownership it had come time to part company  .

Thankfully I have had the pleasure of owning two of those iconic little cars and enjoyed exploring the limits of the car and myself over the years :thumbsup . The runs were numerious and memorable  Mags and I once left Pencaitland exploring the borders ending up at Stranraer hopped on the ferry hooned round Northern Ireland, back on the ferry and then headed home all in one day just because we could..  :thumbsup.

The folk we've met and the places we,ve been the memorys will last a lifetime

Saddly the shine went off the elise after I was banned from driving and I couldent quite gel with it in the same way..

I parked the 160 in the drive yesterday for the last time fitted the roof gave her a pat on the rear with a (been there done that) as i walked out the gate off to work...

Although I dont have a car now I do have my old ZZR 600 so thats fine for now, that ticks more than enough fun boxes. I do plan to get another summer bike so that will keep me occupied and with a set of soft panniers I intend to do a bit of touring around the UK and with Germany a possable trip later this year

I will stick my nose in here now and again just to see whats going on and have a comment on this and that.....

You just never know I might one day in the future take the plunge and have another elise untill then..................enjoy yours

Cheers

Neil

Sad to hear the mighty 160 has gone, but as you say, time for a change. You can still come along to the camping trips / meets etc.

Don't be a stranger! :thumbsup

Numerous epic outings with that S160 over the years mate! What a great wee car.

Memories of the trip we did to Skye running in the new 111r engine (we were on the west coast of Skye before anyone else woke up that morning!) , the TT's, the camping trips as you sat behind watching me ground out the F430...it even features next to the Fezza in a pic in our house.

Sad day, but here's to new adventures.

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.
