As above, he should get a medal, disabled driver, disability car, horrendous situation even for the likes of one of us with our experience, never hit or injured anybody else, and lives to drive another day, hopefully, unless he really should not be on the road.

I agree - the guy must have a cool head under pressure - a lot of people would panic and crash ... a laguna at 125 is probably far from stable anyway!

I'll shift the tank into N on the motorway next time I'm in it and see if it will let me - I know I cannot engage P, R or D unless I have my foot on the brake, but D->N and N->D does work.

He was probably a disabled War pensioner in his 70's........

i think even if your managing the situation at 125mph, your unlikely to be able to continue to do so without police assistance to clear the route. Surely the best way to manage it is to have a controlled crash?? The BMW nurburgring course shows how to crash into a barrier in a controlled way.
