Contract hire something dull
Spend the 5k on a holiday, you won't get many of those after starting a new company.

I am not CH'ing a 1.2 Corsa Paul, I need something vaguely exciting!

Mr B sent a few interesting ones, but I guess that Megane was probably a good mix of fun and sensible.

Broken record from me, ours is on 92k and has only needed wipers, tyres and pads :thumbsup

Go turbo mate, P1s image is improving as its a future classic and neds can't afford to run them anymore. Look to Sierra saphire cosworth values over the last ten years as an indicator

Hot hatches spring to mind - Clio 172/182 with plenty of cash left over. Ibiza FR or golf gti. Decent breadvan Civic Type-R available for less?

Suppose you want something that's not going to cost a fortune to keep going as well and be reasonably practical. Saabs would offer plent yof car for the money, seem to have crashed in price now. Subaru legacy or forester seems good shout as well. Outside bet might be looking at the mazda MPS 3 or 6, cheap, not much to look at but high spec and sleeper style - might be rubbish to drive and cost a fair bit to to run.

RX8 if you're brave (could get a refurbished engine one though) and really not doing a lot of mileage.

£5k is a posh shed :-)
