Plasterboard is not fireproof and certainly not suitable as a closure plate for a stove!

Tut if you need any help let me know.

That looks as if it is what i am looking for, and a hell of a lot less than I came up with, but I would need a custom size to slot into the existing space of at least 1100 x 1100mm.

Tut,

I have galvanised steel sheet lying about.

I will have a bit at least 1m square I'm sure.

It just depends how quickly you need it, I'm probably up near Peter head the week after next, or the week after that.

Thanks John but I am hoping to fire up this weekend, so Scotty would be the best bet.

That's fine, should be easy enough to pick a bit up somewhere in Aberdeen anyway.
Just find sheetmetal worker and get an off cut.

I meant non combustible, as defined by the current building regs, not fire proof as in the likes of fireproof files!

Get 2 and tape them together with closure plate tape. Fully acceptable to withstand the heat.

Never really done any plumbing before, but quite proud of progress so far.

Craig dug out the old fire with his jackhammer and we cleared up around the granite.

I then fitted two compression gate valves from the neutraliser to cut off the water supply to the fire.

Verian laid the new hearth tiles for the stove and painted the surrounds.

Just need four of us to lift it in position tomorrow, then I can connect up the elbow bends and pipework.

Yep, they have stopped making them now, and their new Euro models are only half the capacity.

The boys lifted it into position on the tiles yesterday, and I connected up all the pipework today, but will get Craig to cast his eye over it before I nip all the nuts up.
