Anything else involving catching a ferry from Le Mans in an Elise with its owner paxing me, numerous antics in a certain bright green R400, occasional red-mistiness in TVR Griff 500/Merc C32AMG/Audi RS6, and not to mention youthful stupidity in a mini or R5 GT Turbo or Integrale are just in my imagination :blackeye

And anything in stationary cars is just bullish*t :damnfunny

Just remembered the times I made up a story about 'borrowing' a Merc R129 500SL or Aston Virage Volante originally owned by John Asprey of fine jewellers fame :blackeye

I was once woken up by being tapped on the forehead by a gun while sleeping in the back of a van about 10 years ago working in belfast after the driver ran a amber/red light

I will not be telling any stories in case the police catch me......

I had an allegro when I was about 12, cut the back off it , and turned it into a pickup on the farm.........it lasted a few years, which wasnt bad.

In france, they didnt like my phenominal overtake as i was going towards them. So they handbraked in traffic, came after me, and practically barged me off the road at a junction. As i got out the car, one of them grabbed my rucksack, threw it away, pushed me against the car in a kinda 'spread em' stylee, and as i turned to look at the other cop, he had his gun out pointing at me. I was just about to sh*t myself, as Robin drove past the back of the cop, making a funny face at me

In spain (2 days later), me, robin, and 3 others, sped over the pyranees. The police had a road block set up to check for stolen cars coming into the country, and must have heard us coming a mile away. As we rounded a bend onto a long straight at 100 tuts, matey boy was standing in front of the road block pointing a shotgun at us. They werent the nicest of coppers, and iirc, one of them prodded robin with the shotgun after he sat on the front clam of his yellow exige whilst we waited for them to check our paperwork.

In america, i got stopped for doing 71mph in a 55mph zone, in a 6L corvette, and as he approached the window, he had his gun drawn. Me and nicola just sat with our hands up, i wasnt messing around with the american cops, i've seen to much police/camera/action shows for that :D

Robin doing a 100? Is this the same one that I know?

He was sensibly doing 70 on Stelvio, it was long drag to Toledo in a hot sun and I was dozing off, which is when I took off after the Porsche.

Robin sticks to speed limits on motorways, but mountain passes are fair game in my experience <BG>

Don't think we can top that.

Maybe, I was stopped by an armed response unit, with guns drawn, and handcuffed while my car was searched. It had been in for a service and forgot there was a Replica Gun under the passenger's seat. The garage had called the police and they set up a wee ambush for me about two miles from leaving the garage. They could''t charge me for anything relating to the gun so they went through the car with a fine tooth comb and charged me for having a blue light connected to my alarm system and said my seat belt release knife was an offensive weapon. Got admonished when it finally got to court.

However the real damage was years later when I got a an Enhanced Disclosure done for working in Skye's school. That's when I found out how much some Police officers blatantly lie. Reading the report on the disclosure was like something out of a Hit Man film. Took a long time to clear my name so be very careful out there and certainly don't trust the Police. I am sure most these days are fine but it only takes one ar$ehole to have a devastating effect on your life.\

Apart from that I haven't even had so much as a parking ticket in my driving career.

I note that it was your ex's son , I would have dumped her and her hooligan off-spring pretty sharpish too

Just out of interest - how did you get on with your insurance - did they stump up as a theft or did they get awkward over it?
A few close, but no-one spot on:

£200 fine (payable at £5 per week)
18 month ban - Reduced to 14 months on completion of a DD course.

(Maybe if he'd made it onto the open road, and drove past a speed camera at 100 mph + he'd have got the book thrown at him?)

Insurance did pay out, after giving a statement to the OB stating that it was TWOC'd

Interesting times, and glad to say well in the past - I never did replace the S1, as although it was tatty looking, it was A1 mechanically with some very nice bits (MS2 head for a start...) - The pay out wouldn't have even begun to get something comparable.
