Cheers for info Kevin and got in contact with them today. They said they have a huge backlog of Nanos and just give another few weeks, but to hold onto the proof of posting. I now have a contact email and he said he will check back with me in 3 weeks to see if my Nano is progressing through the repair process. He said I am likely to get a confirmation email from Apple before that anyway. In no rush so will give it another few weeks, and have the proof of posting scanned in case I need to go down that route.

Meant to post up that my Nano showed up in Apple's repair report the following day. Its gone straight through to the last stage "Product Replacement Pending". However that will probably take a wee while as I expect they will be reconditioning returned units ready for despatch as replacements.

That's great news. Mine is still showing as received and "Product replacement pending" since 13th December, but I might get in contact with them to see if I can chase it up.

What number did you use to contact them?

Cheers!

A few people have posted on Pistonheads and they have received a 6th gen Nano as well so fingers crossed. I wasnt very prompt in sending off my nano so has only been at 'replacement pending' since 20th December.

Came home to a parcel today thinking it might be my nano but it wasn't - was my free Blu-ray Star Wars part iv,v and vi discs cos I bought a Panasonic Blu-ray player in December so not too disappointed.

Will end up a good month for freebies for me as I also took out a new phone contract and i chose the cash back option but they wrongly also included a HP net book in the parcel, not stated in my receipt or in the signed for parcel

IIRC Apple has more money than the USA, so they can afford it ;) I would also think it rather shows how much we're fleeced for the products in the first place :damnfunny

It's probably cheaper to send out a new unit than attempt a repair to the old nano. We have just posted ours off this morning so will wait and see what turns up in the next month or 2.

Good thread. Just told Clare and she had a 1st Gen for her 18th birthday, however it was engraved and they will not engrave the replacement.

However she is just registering for a replacement.

Completely forgot about this (even though I have all the packaging sent to me) over the rather drunken festive period :blackeye

So, all packaged up and ready to go now

A pleasant surprise to hear your latest news chaps - nice one :thumbsup
